Drumming in Ghana

This was a festival for the naming of a new chief in Suhum, Ghana. The Dagomba people living in Suhum and surrounding villages/cities got together to perform for the ceremony. At this point, the festivities in the center of the village are over and the ensemble led the procession back to the chief's house for his speech. After his speech, this happened. You can only see the feet of the new chief of Suhum in this footage. The man dancing with the white robe and gold print is the Butcher Chief for the Dagomba people of Suhum.

This was part of the private lessons I took with Sulley Imoro and Adom.
