Mr. Derrick Spiva Jr. and myself will be teaching a workshop at LACMA! The event is called "Evenings For Educators". It is geared toward K-12 teachers who want to add some artistic repertoire to their classroom, no matter what subject you teach. The particular night we are there is October 1st, which will involve exhibits and other workshops related to Central African art, sculptures, and storytelling. We will be teaching a workshop on West African drumming and dancing, including examples on how to apply lessons to the classroom setting. Our program will involve a couple of demonstrative performances and opportunities for audience members to play an instrument and/or dance.
